Book Review
We are still following the students in Mrs. Jewls’s class from Sideways Stories from Wayside School. The kids are just as crazy. My favorite story Miss Mush serving potato salad and nothing for lunch. Students went back for seconds of nothing until Miss Mush ran out of nothing. Every now and then my youngest asks for seconds of nothing then impishly smiles.
What We Liked
This time around the stories are a bit longer, but still short enough to do 2-3 easily in a sitting. The stories are not totally stand alone. Some of the short stories span multiple chapters, like Chapters 19: “A Bad Case of the Sillies”, “A Wonderful Teacher”, and “Forever is Never” all about Miss Zarves of the nineteeth story, which doesn’t exist.
What We Disliked
I don’t love the story of Calvin picking out a tattoo for his birthday. Definitely told my kids that they are not getting a tattoo – birthday or not.
Audiobook
We did not listen to the audiobook.
