Book Review
Book 4 in the Wayside School series was written more than 40 years after Book 1. The students in Mrs. Jewls’s class are still as crazy as when we first met them. And now they are collecting nail clippings – ick (or cool if you are a boy).
What We Liked
The kids favorite story is “The Bells of Wayside,” which tells you all about the bell system in the school. It is definitely different from the ones you have in your school.
I liked “Blame it on the Cloud” where Todd finally isn’t on the DISCIPLINE board. I knew he could do it…it just took him four books.
What We Disliked
This is the last book.

We did not listen to the audiobook.

The Verdict
My youngest says this is the BEST Wayside School book. I prefer the Sideways Stories from Wayside School, but that might just be nostalgia speaking.
Our copies of all 4 Wayside Story books are creased and well loved even though they were brand new paperbacks when we started. My youngest as at least one of these books in his backpack for when he finishes his work early. He knows and loves each character, as I am sure your kids will too.
